OG, Half-Round, or Straight Face: Choosing a Gutter Style
Gutters do an important job, but they're also part of how your home looks from the street. The right style depends on your home's architecture, your roof, and the look you want. Here are the three styles we install most often.
5" OG (K-Style) Gutters
The OG gutter — also called K-style — is the most common gutter on homes today. From the side, its front face has a decorative curve that looks similar to crown molding.
Best for: Most homes, including ranch, tract, and contemporary styles. It holds a good amount of water for its size and fits a wide range of rooflines.
6" Half-Round Gutters
Half-round gutters are shaped like a tube cut in half. They have a classic, rounded look that pairs well with traditional and historic homes, and they're often installed in copper for a high-end finish.
Best for: Craftsman, Spanish, Mediterranean, and traditional homes, or anywhere you want the gutter to be a design feature.
5" Straight Face (Angle Face) Gutters
Straight face gutters have a clean, flat front for a crisp, modern look. They blend in with simple, straight fascia lines.
Best for: Modern and contemporary homes, and homes with clean architectural lines.
Choosing a material
Style is only half the decision. We install gutters in:
Aluminum — lightweight, rust-resistant, and available in many colors.
Bonderized steel — a strong steel that can be painted to match your home.
Stainless steel — very durable and resistant to corrosion.
Copper — a premium look that develops a natural patina over time.
Seamless makes a difference
Whatever style you choose, seamless gutters are formed on-site in one continuous length to fit your home. With no seams along the run, there are fewer places for leaks to start.
